Short (but true) Story

Where the hell am I? And what just happened? she thought to herself, staring through blurry eyes.

Her head was pounding, and the loud noises around her weren’t helping. Jolts of pain were shooting through her chest and she felt a sickness in her stomach. It was all she could do to keep from vomiting or dissolving into a puddle of tears.

Everything went quiet as she recalled what had happened. She was sure she had broken something, but wondered if she was bleeding. How long had she been out? Am I going to die?

“You’re not going to die,” replied a soft voice. Had she said that out loud? “You’ll be fine, but it’s going to take some time to heal from this one.”

She felt a soft hand reach down and pull her to her feet. She clutched her chest and reeled from the dizziness, but a sturdy embrace steadied her as she regained her composure.

“You took a hard hit there,” he said as her eyes began to finally focus. She looked up into a familiar face – those eyes she had missed so much – and saw nothing but love.

Where had he been all this time?

“Let’s get you home. Broken hearts are no laughing matter.”

Note to Self: I'm going to try and start doing a little more creative writing. I know I have it in me, I just hope you guys enjoy it!
