I think it has finally crept up on me.
I bought my first round of Christmas presents this past weekend, and it finally pushed me over the edge and out of my bah-humbug funk. I've spent about half of the agreed upon $50 on the cop's gift already, but the holiday deals keep me hopeful that it will be a great gift.
My roomie and I decorated the first Christmas tree in her new house last night, and I presented her with this ornament from Lenox celebrating the occasion. The sight of a glittering tree made me feel all warm and fuzzy (and somewhat pukey), and it has carried over into my good mood this morning.
What else has me in a good mood? Well, I found THE dress. Yep, that's right. My wedding dress! I couldn't believe that I found it so quickly, but that whole cliche kicked in when I put it on - I just knew. And my wonderful, awesome, kick-ass mother slapped her credit card down on the counter for the whole thing.
But I did stay under budget, which means splurging on a pair of great shoes - perhaps some Kate Spade's? Nordstrom will have a half-yearly sale between now and then, and I'll hit up salon shoes when that happens.
AH... Weight lifted. Now just one more final exam in my classes, and I am done for the semester. Then the official partying can begin.
So for now, I'm in the holiday spirit. At least until the next mom-of-three practically runs over me with her stroller trying to fetch the next tickle-me-Elmo. Or until the next twenty-something in UGG boots and a miniskirt whacks me with her big bag as she walks by. Or until the next pre-teen screams something at an inaudible pitch about Hannah Montana.
Note to Self: Merry Christmas all!

Congrats on finding the dress!
That's a stylish dress. And Merry Christmas.
I haven't even started the shopping - I know it's pretty bad. I can picture myself running around two days before Christmas...
Congrats on the dress...going to view now :0)
I'm so glad things are starting to lighten up for you. I loved your dress!
Rachel - I know, I have th best mom ever! Thanks!
Matt - Thanks! They always tell you that finding the dress is half the battle...
PE - And you have a very Merry Christmas yourself. Lay off the eggnog.
Maki - That's when the best sales happen anyway. Have fun procrastinating!
CM - Good! Shame on you for not keeping up :p
Teeni - Thanks! I'm glad things are getting back to normal too!
Can I have the wedding dress model since you won't be needing her?
VE - She's all yours, but I think you'll find that under all that dress, she looks a bit like a 12-year-old boy... But, if you're into that sort of thing...
GORGEOUS dress! My daughters and I occasionally look at wedding dresses just for the heck of it. I know they would love this one.
