Late Post - Dogs vs. Cats

So a late post tonight. But I said I would have a top ten for today. Being a cat owner for so long, I had no idea what in the world I was missing by not owning a dog. Don't get me wrong, cats make great companions, but for true love, you have to try owning a dog. So in homage of my newfound love, Panther, I give you...

The Top 10 Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Than Cats:

10. When you come home from work, a dog will be happy and lick your face. A cat will still be mad at you for leaving in the first place and then silently command feed me.

9. A dog will come when you call him, and he'll be happy for the attention. A cat will just stare at you – Who me? You can’t be serious. Then he will walk the other way.

8. When you take him for a ride, a dog will sit on the seat next to you or, in my case, in your lap. A cat has to have his own private carrier, or he won't go at all. My cat hates car rides and cries incessantly if I put him in one – ear-piercing cries.

7. Ever try to walk a cat?

6. I never fear my dog jumping out from behind a door or from under a piece of furniture and ripping my legs to shreds.

5. A dog will play fetch with you all day long with a stick, ball, or other inanimate object. The only things a cat will play with all day long are small rodents and bugs, preferably ones that look like they're in extreme pain.

4. I don’t feel I need to wear gloves, three layers of clothing, and full body armor when I give my dog a bath.

3. To a dog, you’re a master. To a cat, you’re a slave.

2. When he’s asleep, a dog doesn’t mind if you move him. Don’t touch a cat while he’s sleeping – you may pull back a nub.

1. Punishing a dog makes him very sad and remorseful. A cat has no remorse. Punishing him only makes him want to get revenge.

Not only that, but I suspect cats are just plain evil. I think there must be some kind of cat mafia, and my cat is the don - Don Catleon. “I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse. Gimme the tuna.”

So thus ends the reasons why I don't miss my cats. Even if I could have stolen them from my mother, I couldn't have kept them anyway since my roomie is allergic to them.

Maybe sometime in the future there will be a "Why Cats are Better than Dogs" top 10 list, but it will take a lot more time for me to come up with those reasons.
