Current Event Wrap-up

Since I haven't commented much on the recent goings-on of morons and politicians (I repeat myself...), I thought I would have a nice, short round-up of my comments on current events. I will present you with the story in five words, and then tell you how I feel about it in five words.

Woman gives birth to octuplets.

Angelina wants to be her....
Trillion dollar stimulus package passes.
Good for first home buyers.
The thirteen year old father.
Damn, where were the parents?
Plane lands in Hudson River.
Congrats, pilot did his job.
Burris and Blagojevich in cahoots?
Blah, blah, blah. Who cares?
Nuclear subs collide in Atlantic.
Phew! Could have been worse!
Phelps caught smoking pot.
Really slow news day, eh?
Chris Brown beats his girlfriend.
Money does not equal class.
Ruling: Vaccines don't cause autism.
What's been said all along.
Hugo Chavez is a tyrant.
Oh really? You don't say!

In more personal news, my Valentine's Day was wonderful. I received flowers at the office on Friday. I got up and made heart-shaped pancakes for the cop when he got off work Saturday morning before he hit the bed. I made reservations for me and three gal pals for dinner and drinks in the evening.

The cop was made Officer of the Month again for January, making that two months in a row. He also caught a burglar red-handed who may be tied to about a dozen car break-in cases over the last few months.

I have been struggling financially, but the tax man has decided to have mercy on me since my MBA tuition equates to half of my salary. I should get enough back to pay off my laptop and get much-needed tires for my car.

Note to Self: Hooray for tax refunds!

I think it's the other way around- she wants to be angelina. I doubt Angelina wants to be her...as she's dirt poor.

Sometimes it just seems like we are watching the Captain Obvious Times when watching the news.

Yeah for Cop. Tell him Thank YOU from Gladys for doing such a great job.

Funny! I love your blog. Those comments about political gadabouts pretty much reflect my own. Love it!

Congrats to the cop, and yey for the tax man, for once!

The most disturbing thing about that Dad/Kid (well apart from the fact that he is 13) is that he looks about 10. I see 14 yr old mothers around all the time( Limerick is a poor and very underprivaleged city) but a 13 yr old dad seems so much more messed up!

K - Glad I'm not the only one then..

CM - Well in an interview, she said "Angelina wants to be me..." Shocking. I know.

Gladys - No kidding! Thanks - I'll pass it on :)

Franco - LOL. I'm sure we aren't the only ones who feel that way!

KM - I'm not sure. Probably because you aren't surfing the web as much as me, lol. Thanks!

Lucy - Thanks! Keep on dropping in. I always love having new people around.

NDD - Exactly! I was thinking the same thing. Even here it seems young mothers are commonplace. But such a young father? Now that's just strange...

Matt - I know. I'm thinking of not cursing the tax man to the death of a thousand flames for once.
