Yep. I'm doing it this weekend.
I'm crashing a wedding tomorrow where a prospective caterer is going to be handling a reception. Little does she know that, while she is trying to keep one blushing bride happy, she will be vying for the paycheck of another.
I'm so tired of interviewing vendors and all that. I would rather just close my eyes and do the old eeny-meeny-miney-mo thing. Meanwhile, my invitation list is growing ever smaller. I can feel my father's wallet sighing with relief already.
Have any of you ever crashed a wedding before?
Happy Friday!
Note to Self: Try this out. I named my doll "guy that put me on hold for thirty minutes".

No, but it sounds fun. (If you are going at it like the guys in the movie.)
Have a piece of cake for me.
I don't know if I would do this or not. I would never go into a stranger's wedding and sample their food. They pay for it and all and I would definitely not want to see strangers eating food that I am providing for invited guests. They'd get the heave ho. But if you mean going and asking people at the reception what they think of the food/caterer, then I would do that.
You could also check out the band or DJ or whatever and the venue at the same time. ;)
I once threw up in a lake (it was an outdoor wedding) I was 6
I've never crashed a wedding. Funerals have better food.
Promise me you'll give yourself a fake name.
i think teeni has a good point.
caterers should have fairs or other related events where you can sample their food and see how their setups would look.
Well.. no, I have not.
Hopefully the food is being served "buffet style" and not pre-plated. I think it would be easier for you to get away w/ your mishcevious-ness that way! LOL
All - Well, I was technically i invited. My wedding planner was the planner for that wedding too, and she wanted me to come and get an idea of what the caterer and florist were like.
I went before the reception was in full swing, and the guests were never the wiser. The caterer let me try some of her wonderful pork and the florist was too awesome for words.
I'll explain more on my wedding blog.
sort of...
once, a friend and I were in NYC and went into the Plaza Hotel, where there was some HUGE gala wedding going on. We didnt try their food or anything, but we did sneak into the restrooms to steal a glass. Souvenir, you know.
I've never crashed a wedding before but I have crashed a VW bug...does that count?
