Note to Idiots

Back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Dear guy holding up the U-Scan line,

There is a reason why there is a 15 item limit for this line. Considering you have a whole cart full of groceries, I'm guessing you have more than fifteen items.

No, you cannot scan faster than the girl at the checkout counter. When all the crap that you're buying doesn't fit on the bag scale, that should be a sign to you that you have too many things for this checkout.

Yes, I am staring at you, as are all the other people waiting impatiently in line behind me. I hope my hatred for you burns a hole in the back of your head. The only thing I hate more than you right now is the checkout attendant that allowed you to come through this line with all that stuff.

You're lucky you didn't pay with a check, or I might have been forced to stick my half gallon of milk somewhere uncomfortable for you.

Do it again, and I will make an ugly scene.
MJ

Note to Self:
He's lucky I wasn't buying bananas that day, or I might have been forced to do something rash.

mj, I don't know if this is good or bad, but I would have loved to see this guy paying with a check just to see your reaction:) But I hate those idiots who are so blindly inconsiderate and selfish.

LOL!! Thats too funny. I HATE when people do that! Although lately, the grocery stores don't even keep more than 1 actual register open at a time which kind of "forces" people into the "u-scan" lane...
But if you have a whole cart-full... you should know better!

Good thing you didn't stop by the produce dept! Bananas could be bad - tomatos too.. smeared avocado.. the list goes on and on...

Hi MJ,

My technique for handling that, and similar, situation is to get their attention and ask if they need help with the machine. When the inevitable puzzled look comes, I point to the sign and say, "Sorry, I just figured that since you can't read English, you wanted the computer to address you in Spanish and might need some assistance after you made the wrong language selection." I have actually received applause from other people in line for this.

Maki - That would have been messy...

KPD - How about celery lol.

CM - *mumbles words to conjure the devil*

Alison - :)

SM - No kidding. I can understand having 16 items with a 15 item limit, even 20 items as long as you're not slow about it. But a whole cart full?????

AES - It wouldn't surprise me...

Grit - I would love to see that! I will try that next time lol.
