What I learned from Obama's speech last night...

(1) Obama is a very good speaker.
(2) Obama has a great speech writer.

My eyes actually watered a bit, but mostly from wishing I could believe all the drivel coming from his mouth. Although he explained exactly what he thinks he's going to be able to change, he still didn't explain how.

It was very moving because of the milestone with having an African American presidential nominee in a major party, etc. Quite lovely. But being good at speaking and having a lot of people like you doesn't make you Presidential material. Knowing what the hell you're doing does.

Maybe if he had waited until the next election go-round, and you know, after he DID some things, I might be willing to vote for him. But for now, I'm totally ambivalent.

Here's a great review that sums it up: Mile High letdown.

Note to Self: Maybe he'll be calling on the power of... wait for it.... hope. Or maybe he'll do what all Dems do and raise our taxes, because apparently the 20% that puts my salary under the poverty line just isn't enough for the government.

Oh, don't worry McCain-inites. You'll get your time in the MJ Hall of Shame too...
