Ode to Tetherball

Oh rotating orb of my youth
Georgia doesn't understand
Your California ways
Whooshing by my head
Swinging far out of reach
Over black top in summer heat

How you mocked my shortness.

I've never understood the appeal of tetherball.

I'm tall and tetherball still sucks. ;)

I played tether ball all the time in the 6th grade. I got so I was quite good. I liked your "ode!" It made me smile.

Do you know that I don't think I've EVER played tether ball? I really don't...

Colby, I don't think I've ever played it either. Probably why I don't get the appeal. But, it seems rather boring, anyway. Unless you're trying to knock someone unconscious, I suppose.

heeheeheehee! Love that line!

I used to have a blast with tetherball in school. We used to organize tournaments.

Livin - I don't know its appeal either. And it is boring.

PP - I'm glad it's not just me then.

KM - Glad I could make you smile. I was never good at tetherball.

CM - That's because of the lack of tetherball courts in GA. I think GA has something against the game - perhaps rightly so. I only used to play it when I lived in CA.

K - Ugh. We used to have tournaments to. It basically came down to who could hit it the hardest first and hit it over your head...
