Movie MAAAADneeeesss!

Okay, since so many of you have been asking (all two of you), here's the list of DVDs that my roommate and I have to watch tonight:

Team America, which looks retarded...
Casablanca, because my roommate hasn't seen it, and that's shameful...
Maverick, because it has Mel Gibson it it...
Super Troopers, because it's freakin' hilarious... meow...
The Bank Job, because I haven't seen it, even though I have no huge urge to...
No Country For Old Men, because the cop insists it's good...

I'm not sure what we will or won't get to watch tonight.
Any recommendations?

Hi MJ,

While the rest of your movie picks are good, I feel compelled to warn you that, "No country For Old Men," is quite possibly the worst movie ever made. My wife, bless her heart, rented it as a treat for me, and, well, it sucked so bad that I couldn't hide my disappointment from her. Normally, I have the self control and decency to watch whatever she picks, smile and nod, and say how great the viewing was.

Really, this one was so atrocious that, after forcing myself to watch the entire thing, on the vague hope that it would somehow redeem itself before it ended, I walked around for two or three days muttering under my breath about how bad it was, although the dogs didn't seem to care.

So, while I think that everyone involved in the production of this movie should be immediately jailed and prosecuted for their combined assault on our senses, allow me to wish you well in viewing said film.

Totally figures that the movie with the most awards would suck the most.

Hi MJ,

Yep. Typical.

Well, my wife is home with three extra dogs, so I suspect I'll be signing off for the evening. Catch you in the morning. Much good luck with your blogathon.

Team America is totally ridiculous, but also really, really funny!

Well, if you think Team America seems stupid, don't listen to me, because I would have TOTALLY recommended that one. But only if you like shows like South Park. Otherwise Casablanca is one of my favorite movies of all time and anybody who hasn't seen it shouldn't say it too loud in public.

Hey, MJ,
I felt No Country for Old Men wasn't too bad, really, except the ending. Or should I say lack of an ending. The movie just...stopped.
Ridiculous isn't the word for Team America. Hope you like puppet porn, if you've got the unrated version. It is really funny but ridiculous.
Watch Maverick. Mel Gibson in a western comedy. What's not to like?

Thanks for the warnings about Team America ladies!

Oh and Aubrey, I heard that the ending was awful. But for some reason my cop still thinks it's a great movie.

You should come check out my DVD collection- it has gotten a lot larger than I remember it being. It is amazing how when you unpack you learn how much stuff you truly have!

We were looking through ours tonight, and I found about a dozen that were still in plastic wrap...
