Inquiring minds want to know...

What I got for my birthday:

Well, the day started out with going to work. My roommate had lovingly blocked the doorway with a low-hanging "Happy Birthday" banner strategically positioned for me to run smack into it in the dark and scare the absolute snot out of myself.

While at work, I was pleasantly surprised with a bouquet of the largest roses I had ever seen in my life. They were gorgeous, my coworkers were jealous, and they smelled sooo good. Perfect.

That night we headed out to Bonefish Grill. Fortunately, the cop had pulled over a girl earlier that day who worked there and she offered to put a reservation in for us because he was so nice to her. It was great because that meant we didn't have to wait for a table. I got a Nordstrom gift card and an American Express gift card, as well as an iTunes gift card from the cop's charming roommate. Also wonderful, my father had sent me a singing card and some much needed cash.

My roomie gave me the surprise of taking me the next day to paint pottery and get a mani and pedi. It was really a lot of fun! I never knew I could spend two-and-a-half hours painting a cieramic pig like a giraffe, but I totally did! This was all after I had the majority of my hair cut off into a cute little bob that morning, and all before we got dolled up for some fine dining that night.

But the absolute awesomest gifts came from none other than the cop himself. DBF gave me the blue Garmin nuvi GPS that I had put on my birthday list. He also gave me a cute necklace with a replica of his police badge for the charm.

The best gift of all, however, I saved until last - a Colt .38 Detective Special revolver with a blue/black finish. Practically mint. This may not seem like a great thing to a lot of girls, but this is one thing I have been wanting for a while. I had no idea he had gotten it for me, so it was a pleasant surprise. It's great too because my conceal and carry license just came in last week. Perfect timing!

So needless to say, I will hopefully be going out to the range sometime this week to try it out. I'll let you know how that goes.

Note to Self:
I'm now armed and dangerous.

I am one of those crazy people who truly understand why you love your hand gun. I have named mine "AmerX"

Short for American Express... Don't leave home without it.
