A great article by the North American Editor of the BBC, starts "Despite the fact there are more than 200 million guns in circulation, there is a certain tranquility and civility about American life."
Peaceful America leaves its doors unlocked, owns at least one gun, and has no qualms about shooting you if you enter its home uninvited.
He goes on, pointing out that, yes, America does have its violent crimes, but that ordinary America is just fine, thank you.
Isn't this what I've been trying to say all along???
"It is a paradox. Along with the guns there is a tranquility and civility about American life of which most British people can only dream, " he says, alluding to the high violent crime rates found in many British cities.
Note to Self: It's not a paradox. It's not even complicated. Threaten my life, or that of another, and I will shoot you. And society can only turn out for the better because of it.
